by The Onsi Group | 07/03/2018

Angela Hendrix, JD, Founder and President of The Onsi Group will be presenting a course hosted by the South-West Texas Border Small BusinessDevelopment Center, UTSA

This course provides an overview of the Davis-Bacon Act and the necessity of insuring compliance when working on federally funded construction projects. Contractors have an obligation to ensure workers are properly classified, fringe benefits are properly paid, and payrolls are certified and workers paid on time. Failure to perform any of these tasks can lead to serious consequences. The Department of Labor has increased audits to ensure contractors are in compliance with the law. Failure to comply with the components of the law can have serious consequences to include not only paying workers back wages that are due, but also fines, possible criminal charges and debarment.
